Post-Doctoral Scientist – Technical Services/Manufacturing Science

About the role

Lilly is seeking a Post‑Doctoral Scientist to join the Technical Services/Manufacturing Science (TS/MS) organization in Indianapolis. The role supports dynamic manufacturing environments, leading technical development and commercialization of parenteral drug products to ensure robust, scalable processes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure reliability and compliance of manufacturing processes with US and global regulations.
• Design, conduct, and analyze statistically designed experiments to deepen process understanding and optimize conditions.
• Develop laboratory‑scale models to assess manufacturing changes and support scale‑up activities.
• Lead technical projects, drive continuous improvements, and mentor lab associates.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, Chemical Biology or a closely related field.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without sponsorship.
• Demonstrated record of scientific achievement and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.

Required skills

• Organic chemistry applied to peptide and biomolecule stability.
• Characterization methods for peptides and biomolecules.
• Statistical design of experiments (DOE) for process optimization.
• Knowledge of cGMP, scale‑up requirements, and process development.
