About the role

Lilly’s 2027 Summer Undergraduate Internship offers science students a hands‑on experience in drug discovery and development. Interns will work on real projects, gain fluency with AI tools, and contribute to cutting‑edge research across multiple therapeutic areas.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in AI/ML‑assisted research, analytical development, and bioassay development.
• Conduct biological testing of compounds, organic and peptide synthesis, and computational chemistry projects.
• Support molecular biology workflows, protein expression, purification, and formulation activities.
• Collaborate on flow chemistry, drug product design, and delivery device development.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or Master’s program in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical or Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without sponsorship.
• Team player with strong communication skills and prior laboratory or pharmaceutical research experience.
