About the role
The City of Sandy is seeking qualified individuals to join its Police Department as Police Officers. Working under the supervision of a Police Sergeant, you will deliver routine and emergency police services to protect the community.
Key responsibilities
- Enforce criminal laws, county and city ordinances.
- Provide routine patrols and respond to emergency calls.
- Conduct traffic enforcement and investigations.
- Maintain public safety and order during incidents.
Required profile
- Obtain and maintain Utah LEO POST certification.
- Valid Utah driver’s license and ability to qualify annually in firearms, emergency vehicle operations, physical ability, and arrest control.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful residency for at least five years, age 21 or older.
- High school diploma, clean criminal record, and good moral character.
- Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
Required skills
- Firearms proficiency.
- Emergency vehicle operation.
- Typing (minimum 30 wpm).
