Physician Clinical RN Coordinator – Cardiology

About the role

The Physician Clinical RN Coordinator provides health care services to patients in both hospital and clinic settings, working under the direction of a physician to ensure accurate documentation and quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and document medical data for new admissions and in‑patients to assist physician diagnosis.
• Dictate histories, physicals, progress notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
• Track patients for coding and billing, ensuring complete and timely documentation.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, preventive health maintenance and supportive services.
• Administer fluids, medications, treatments and assist with procedures as directed.
• Maintain inventory of medications, supplies and venous access devices; administer IV push medications.
• Perform point‑of‑care lab testing, obtain specimens and conduct equipment quality checks.
• Process prescription refills, referrals and obtain pre‑certifications or authorizations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited RN program with a current Missouri RN license (or Compact State).
• Minimum three years of clinical nursing experience, preferably a blend of hospital and clinic.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong computer, critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) systems.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
