Physical Therapy Assistant - Home Health

About the role

AdvisaCare, a leading provider of home care services based in Lansing, is looking for a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant to work in its home health setting. The assistant works closely with clients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, helping them improve mobility, strength and independence in the comfort of their own homes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the licensed Physical Therapist.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities focused on improving mobility, strength and coordination.
• Guide and educate clients and their families on proper exercise, transfer and ambulation techniques.
• Assess and document client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care and promote good outcomes.
• Communicate with clients, families and caregivers, providing support and answering questions.
• Follow all relevant legal, ethical and professional standards.

Required profile

• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Michigan.
• CPR certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules.
