Physical Therapist – Inpatient Acute/Rehab (PRN)

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to work on weekends at Mercy Hospital in Canton. This part‑time position supports inpatient acute and rehabilitation patients, providing hands‑on therapy and patient education.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and conduct prescribed physical therapy treatment programs for acute and rehab patients.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments, establish and revise plans of care with patients and families.
• Deliver therapy interventions such as strength, range‑of‑motion, endurance, and coordination exercises, including use of modalities like heat, cold, electricity, or aquatic therapy.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, students, and other caregivers as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or PT certificate.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work two weekend shifts per month, with potential for additional weekday shifts.

Required skills

• Knowledge of physical therapy assessment techniques and treatment modalities.
• Ability to lift, move, and support patients safely during therapy sessions.
• Clear verbal communication for patient instruction and documentation.
