Physical Therapist - Inpatient - Acute - PRN

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital as a PRN Physical Therapist providing inpatient acute care. You will work closely with patients to improve strength, range of motion, endurance and coordination while delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions.
• Establish, revise and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Deliver therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques appropriate to age and condition.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or certificate in Physical Therapy.
• Graduate of an APTA‑accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred: experience in acute care physical therapy.

Required skills

• Physical therapy assessment and treatment techniques.
• Development and modification of patient care plans.
• Supervision of therapy assistants and students.
• Ability to meet heavy physical demands (lifting, climbing, balance).
