About the role

The Physical and Occupational Therapy Technician assists licensed therapy professionals with patient lifting, transferring, gait training, and exercise activities. This entry‑level position provides hands‑on experience in a therapy‑centered environment and serves as a stepping‑stone toward advanced clinical careers.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain sanitary and orderly conditions in the department.
  • Inventory departmental equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
  • Fabricate and set up patient‑related equipment as directed.
  • Assist patients with lifting, transferring, gait training, and therapeutic exercises.

Required profile

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Ability to walk without assistive device, lift patients, and maintain balance during therapy.
  • Basic mathematical skills for inventory management and equipment preparation.
