Phlebotomy Technician – Neuro Expansion

About the role

The Phlebotomy Technician will join Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Institute, supporting a new state‑of‑the‑art facility that consolidates outpatient, surgical, ICU, and specialty services. The role focuses on safe blood collection and specimen handling while helping patients feel comfortable.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures, following proper protocols and maintaining log sheets.
• Verify orders, label specimens accurately, and deliver them to the appropriate processing area.
• Process specimens, including accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging for transport.
• Pick up and deliver blood, other sample types, and laboratory supplies throughout the facility.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical proficiency with standard phlebotomy procedures and equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a team environment.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk frequently, and perform fine‑motor tasks.

Required skills

• Venipuncture technique.
• Specimen labeling and accessioning.
• Centrifugation and basic laboratory processing.
• Formal Phlebotomy Certification (preferred) and completion of an accredited phlebotomy program.
