About the role
The Phlebotomy Technician joins the Inpatient Phlebotomy team at Mercy Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic Health System facility in Canton. You will collect blood and other specimens, ensuring accurate labeling and timely delivery to the laboratory.
Key responsibilities
- Perform blood collection and venipuncture procedures following established protocols.
- Verify orders, label specimens, and transport them to the appropriate processing area.
- Handle specimen processing tasks such as accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging.
- Pick up and deliver blood, other sample types, and lab supplies as needed.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Technical proficiency with standard phlebotomy procedures and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and work effectively in a team environment.
Required skills
- Phlebotomy (venipuncture, specimen collection).
- Specimen processing (accessioning, centrifugation, packaging).
- Use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
