Phlebotomy Lab Technician (Part-Time PRN)

About the role

The Phlebotomy Lab Technician collects blood and other specimens from out‑patient patients, prepares them for transport, and ensures accurate delivery to the laboratory. This part‑time PRN position works night shifts and occasional weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures, verify orders, and label specimens.
• Accession, centrifuge, package, and deliver specimens to the appropriate processing area.
• Enter test requests and specimen receipt using the lab computer system.
• Greet patients professionally, explain procedures, and maintain a calm environment.
• Communicate essential information to laboratory staff and transport samples and supplies as needed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program or at least one year of specimen collection experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk frequently, and perform venipuncture.

• Use of laboratory computer systems for test entry.
• Basic computer proficiency.
