Phlebotomist Technician, CCSR

About the role

The Phlebotomist Technician joins the Medical Laboratory Team at Cleveland Clinic’s Independence Family Health Center, providing primary and specialty care. Working on a day/evening PRN rotation, the technician helps patients feel comfortable during blood draws while ensuring accurate specimen collection.

Key responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures, follow venipuncture protocols, and maintain log sheets.
• Verify order requests and patient identification before drawing blood or collecting specimens.
• Label all specimens, deliver them to the processing area, and handle accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging.
• Pick up and deliver blood, other sample types, and laboratory supplies across multiple locations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical proficiency with standard phlebotomy procedures and techniques.
• Preferred: formal phlebotomy certification and graduation from an accredited program with clinical rotation.

Required skills
