Phlebotomist – Full‑Time

About the role

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center seeks a full‑time Phlebotomist to join its Laboratory Department, working under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager or Lead Phlebotomist.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
• Collect all types of cultures and instruct patients on proper collection techniques.
• Order, cancel, and accession tests in the Meditech LIS system, ensuring accurate patient identification and specimen labeling.
• Answer telephone calls courteously and provide accurate information.
• Organize and prioritize tasks, handling incoming specimens for both reference and general laboratories.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; medical assistant or phlebotomy certification preferred.
• One year of relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to perform precise invasive procedures and maintain high accuracy in arithmetic and documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary blood collection.
• Knowledge of culture collection procedures.
• Experience with Meditech Laboratory Information System.
