Pharmacy Technician – Operating Room (Evenings)

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician – Operating Room, Evenings supports Cleveland Clinic’s high‑volume inpatient pharmacy, focusing on the operating room and collaborating with multiple service lines such as oncology, sterile products, pediatrics, and general inpatient care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non‑sterile and sterile compounding.
• Deliver medications to appropriate storage locations accurately and timely.
• Maintain accurate inventories, perform cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
• Ensure a safe, clean work area and comply with regulatory documentation (temperature logs, activity logs, training records).
• Utilize pharmacy information systems, technology and automation for task completion.
• Assist in training pharmacy caregivers and students.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA at hire.
• Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (Certified, Registered, or Trainee).
• Six months of hospital experience and completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program preferred.

Required skills

• Medication preparation, labeling and repacking.
• Non‑sterile and sterile compounding techniques.
• Inventory management and audit procedures.
• Use of pharmacy information systems and automation equipment.
• Documentation of regulatory requirements (temperature logs, activity logs).
