Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Genoa Healthcare, a pharmacy care services company within Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support its mental health pharmacy in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The technician works under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, filling prescription orders and handling the necessary clerical duties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and clinic staff
• Fil prescriptions and make them available for verification under the registered pharmacist's supervision
• Order, receive and store incoming pharmacy supplies
• Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
• Verify medication stock and enter data to maintain inventory records
• Work with the pharmacist to keep the pharmacy compliant with federal and state requirements
• Perform departmental clerical duties and communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in Pennsylvania, or an active trainee license with the ability to obtain a state license within 6 months of employment
• Reliable transportation and a valid US driver's license
• Preferred: National Pharmacy Technician Certification and pharmacy data entry experience
