Patient Access Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1 is a provider of technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups. As a Patient Access Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care. The position is on-site in Johnstown, PA, at LifePoint Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center (LifePoint East Hills), with multiple shift options available.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process, working across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Minimise delays in registration and answer questions with confidence, clarity and compassion
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus (not required)
• No healthcare background needed: training is provided
