Pharmacy Technician – Community PRN

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician – Community PRN supports the high‑volume Euclid Avenue outpatient pharmacy at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, processing about 1,100 prescriptions daily. The role rotates through register operations, prescription preparation, data entry, insurance processing, inventory management and medication restocking, providing direct customer service to patients and care teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Pharmacist with distributive pharmacy services and refill automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare medication carts, repackage bulk medications, and maintain pharmacy inventory.
• Process prescriptions, handle insurance verification, and perform data entry tasks.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA.
• Registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee (must be upgraded to CPhT within 6 months).
• Preferred: Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program and six months of hospital experience.
