Pharmacy Manager

About the role

Genoa Healthcare, a pharmacy care services company within Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is hiring a Pharmacy Manager for its on-site pharmacy in Hicksville, New York. The manager advises consumers and clinic partners on pharmaceutical care services and benefits, and is responsible for the financial, clinical and quality aspects of pharmacy services. The role oversees daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing prescriptions and spending one-on-one time with patients, and involves coaching, developing and managing pharmacy staff.

Key responsibilities

• Create a strong consumer and clinic partner experience and build lasting relationships with both groups
• Act as an expert to the clinical staff and meet regularly with the team on clinical outcomes
• Counsel and educate patients on medication use, side effects, schedules and other questions
• Ensure the pharmacy and team follow policies and standards in line with state and federal laws
• Perform wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots and other preventive services
• Drive financial profitability and identify growth opportunities for the pharmacy
• Motivate, develop and coach pharmacy staff, and recruit top talent
• Review key performance indicators with staff, conduct workforce and business planning, and review KPIs to spot improvement opportunities
• Build relationships with the community, stakeholders and clinic partners, and drive marketing plans and materials

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
• Current pharmacist license in the state of New York
• Certified immunizer, or willing to become one within 3 months of hire
• Preferred: 3+ years of pharmacy leadership experience
• Preferred: authorization to administer long-acting injectables, or willing to obtain it within 3 months of hire
