Pharmacy Clerk

About the role

Hy-Vee is hiring a Pharmacy Clerk in its Maple Grove pharmacy. The role supports the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy with care and professionalism, assisting customers, stocking and ordering supplies, handling cash transactions and keeping the pharmacy running smoothly. It is an hourly position.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, answer the telephone and take refill orders
• Gather patient information needed to prepare prescriptions and review unpicked-up prescriptions
• Stock received products and supplies, mark stickers and keep supplies well stocked
• Order product and supplies, review invoices and log them, and complete cash transactions accurately
• Prepare paperwork and compile medicine for delivery orders and mail-outs, and coordinate nursing home medicines
• Administer vaccines where allowed by law and where certification is required
• Clean the pharmacy, empty garbage and maintain a tidy appearance
• Maintain confidentiality of patients' private medical information and follow Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
• Assist in other store areas as needed and report to work on time

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required
• Over six months to one year of similar or related experience preferred
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law
• Ability to stand and walk frequently, including at a pharmacy counter, and to count, pour, package and label medications under pharmacist supervision
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and sharps, and to hazardous drugs; safety training is provided

The anticipated starting hourly wage is $16.00 to $20.00 depending on experience. Employment is contingent on a pre-employment drug screen.
