Personal Trainer – YMCA East Boston

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a personal training clientele through one‑on‑one and small‑group sessions.
• Demonstrate proper exercise form, track client progress, and follow up regularly.
• Promote personal training services via outreach, demonstrations, and events.
• Operate equipment safely, report issues, and support gym floor staff as needed.
• Participate in trainer education lectures, meetings, and professional development.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, friendly, and ambitious personality with strong communication skills.
• Reliable, flexible, safety‑conscious, and able to react calmly in emergencies.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
• Two‑ or four‑year degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred.

Required skills

• Nationally accredited personal training certification (e.g., NSCA, ACSM, NASM).
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Ability to conduct fitness assessments and design progressive exercise programs.
• Proficiency with member‑management software for tracking and communication.
