Payroll Specialist

About the role

Vensure Employer Solutions, a provider of HR technology, managed services and business process outsourcing, is hiring a Payroll Specialist to support its payroll function for a growing client base. The specialist handles all payroll-related processing activities, including day-to-day processing of scheduled and off-cycle payrolls.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day payroll processing support for scheduled and off-cycle payrolls.
• Import or manually enter payroll changes such as hours, employee updates, earnings, deductions and tax overrides.
• Calculate payroll and confirm accurate entry of client-provided data by generating control totals for import files and doing manual review.
• Respond timely and accurately to client inquiries by email, case system and phone.
• Partner with Payroll Supervisors on special projects and manage the assigned book of business.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience, skills and education preferred.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• At least one year of payroll experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to handle confidential employee information and payroll data with discretion.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data validation) and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking and problem-solving.
• Good judgment and collaboration with HR, Finance and Operations teams.
