Payroll Analyst

About the role

The Payroll Analyst supports the Payroll Department by processing regular and supplemental payrolls, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, state and federal regulations, and university policies.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily payroll data, correct records, and coordinate with other departments for payroll adjustments.
• Audit payroll records, reconcile with the general ledger, and prepare reports for HR Benefits and finance teams.
• Collect and process tax withholdings, direct deposit information, and voluntary deductions.
• Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders, explain policies, and assist with training.
• Support time and leave processing, including audits of work hours and leave balances.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field.
• At least one year of payroll processing or payroll accounting experience (three years preferred).
• Experience with Workday HCM, Payroll, Finance, Time Tracking and Leave modules.
• Knowledge of state payroll requirements and standard government accounting principles.
