Pavilion LPN - PRN

About the role

Pavilion is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a part-time position in its long-term care facility in Baxley. The LPN acts as charge nurse on assigned shifts, leading and supervising staff in caring for residents and making decisions about their conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Give medications, including IV push and IV piggyback; start IVs as ordered (only LPNs with IV therapy inservice may start IVs)
• Take vital signs and record them in the medical record where required
• Collect lab specimens and record results
• Administer prescribed procedures such as enemas
• Provide physical and emotional care to residents
• Take part in weekly Medicare and care plan conferences and provide input to ancillary personnel
• Chart resident information and write weekly and/or monthly summaries as assigned
• Supervise treatments such as decubitus care, G-tube care and Foley catheter care, using sterile or aseptic technique for dressings
• Insert Foley catheters using sterile technique

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing
• Current State of Georgia LPN license
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
• 20 hours of continuing education every two years to maintain the license
• Prior experience in a long-term care facility preferred but not required
