Patient Transporter – Full‑Time Evening Shift

About the role

Join Lehigh Valley Health Network as a Patient Transporter, providing safe and timely movement of patients throughout the hospital. This full‑time evening position supports patient flow and contributes to a high‑quality care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from clinical units, diagnostic and treatment areas using wheelchairs, stretchers or beds, handling equipment such as oxygen tanks and IV pumps.
• Coordinate transport activities at entrances, discharged patient holding areas, and respond to alerts for emergent situations.
• Manage equipment distribution, inventory, cleaning and sanitizing of medical devices.
• Utilize transport software to support patient throughput and hospital capacity initiatives.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to provide high‑level customer service with a compassionate, positive attitude.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk 8‑10 miles per shift, and perform kneeling, bending, squatting, CPR as needed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 180 days of hire.
