Patient Service Specialist – CCSR

About the role

The Patient Service Specialist (CCSR) at Cleveland Clinic Health System provides a proactive, "Patients First" experience for patients and visitors at the Independence Family Health Center. Working on a PRN (as‑needed) basis, you will support registration, scheduling, insurance verification and other front‑desk functions while ensuring a welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient registration, visit preparation, telephone triage, insurance verification, co‑pay collection, and scheduling.
• Maintain confidential patient information and track patient records, arrivals, and departures.
• Screen and schedule interpreter services and educate patients on MyChart and Appointment Pass.
• Investigate, triage and resolve patient issues using the HEART model.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED with two years of relevant experience, OR an Associate’s degree with one year of experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong customer service background and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic or other scheduling systems.
• Experience using MyChart or similar patient portal tools.
• Basic computer dexterity to operate PC and office equipment.
