About the role
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed clinical team members at Lehigh Valley Health Network. The role supports both in‑person and telehealth encounters, ensuring safe and compassionate care for a diverse patient population.
Key responsibilities
- Perform validated patient care activities, respond to call lights, and conduct patient rounds.
- Assist with telehealth encounters, operating peripheral devices (e.g., electronic stethoscope) and software such as Epic and Vidyo.
- Maintain a safe patient environment, manage supplies and equipment, and may act as a virtual safety associate.
Required profile
- High School Diploma/GED with knowledge of medical terminology and patient care basics.
- Ability to lift and transport patients (40‑50 lb) and stand/walk for long periods.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Required skills
- BLS – Basic Life Support (AHA)
- Use of Epic electronic health record system
- Operation of video‑conferencing tools (Vidyo) and electronic stethoscopes
