Patient Care Partner – Night Shift Float Pool

About the role

The Patient Care Partner provides direct patient care on the night shift within the LVHN Float Pool, supporting a variety of units as needed. This position works closely with Registered Nurses and the care team to ensure safe, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver treatments and diagnostic studies as directed by a Registered Nurse.
• Observe patients, communicate findings promptly to the RN, and respond to call lights or pages.
• Perform validated technical skills specific to the clinical specialty and unit.
• Conduct equipment quality checks and utilize technology to enhance care delivery.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with less than 1 year of direct patient care experience, or successful completion of LVHN’s inexperienced technical partner course.
• Ability to follow directions, organize and prioritize assignments, and maintain unit‑specific competencies.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform patient transfers.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (Pennsylvania) within 30 days of hire.
