Patient Care Partner – Night Shift, 72 hrs bi‑weekly

About the role

The Patient Care Partner provides direct patient care on the night shift at Lehigh Valley Hospital‑Hazleton, supporting the nursing team with treatments, diagnostics, and patient‑centered services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care and related activities using a patient/family‑centered approach in line with policies.
• Observe patients, communicate findings to the RN, and respond promptly to call lights and pages.
• Perform validated technical skills specific to the unit and use technology to enhance care delivery.
• Participate in orientation of new staff and assist with unit equipment quality checks.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with less than 1 year of direct patient care experience or successful completion of LVHN’s technical partner course.
• Ability to follow directions, organize and prioritize assignments, and maintain unit‑specific competencies.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk continuously, and walk 8‑10 miles per shift.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (Pennsylvania) within 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and equipment use.
• Validated clinical technical skills as required by the unit specialty.
