About the role

The Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) works on the Progressive Coronary Care Unit at Fairview Hospital, providing supportive care to cardiac patients in a telemetry environment. The position is day‑shift (6:30 am‑7:00 pm) with rotating weekend and holiday duties.

Key responsibilities

Assist patients with personal care, activities of daily living, and transfers/transport.
Perform vital signs, weight checks, pulse oximetry, point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, and apply/remove monitoring devices and urinary catheters.
Report abnormal findings to the supervising RN and help maintain clean, orderly patient rooms.

Required profile

High School Diploma or GED.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain during new‑hire period).
Ability to read at an eighth‑grade level and perform basic math.
Physical ability to lift patients and perform moderate manual labor.

Required skills

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Proficiency in vital‑sign monitoring, pulse oximetry, and point‑of‑care testing.
Experience with dressing changes and urinary catheter management.
