About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in the Critical Care Float Pool, providing essential support to surgical and trauma patients across multiple intensive care units during night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs, personal care, transfers, and basic monitoring.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional condition to the RN.
• Assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Perform tasks such as pulse oximetry, point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, applying monitoring devices, and urinary catheter removal.
• Provide flexible coverage across multiple critical‑care units, including ICU, trauma, and neuro‑ICU settings.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain during new‑hire period).
• For nursing students, BLS certification required prior to hire.
• Military experience as Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician considered.
• Proficiency in applied mathematics and reading comprehension at an eighth‑grade level.
• Preferred: State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification (preferred).
