About the role

The University of Miami UHealth Department of Patient Access in Doral is seeking a Patient Access Representative 2 to register patients for clinical services, verify insurance, and collect payments.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information for financial clearance.
• Contact patients’ families or physicians’ offices to gather missing insurance details.
• Verify insurance eligibility and notify patients and referring physicians of any issues.
• Collaborate with scheduling departments to identify add‑on patients.
• Secure authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals as required.
• Notify patients of financial liabilities and collect payments.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in the system of record.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to process confidential information discreetly.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively and communicate effectively in oral and written form.
