Part‑Time Online Law Course Instructor (Master of Legal Studies)

About the role

The University of Miami School of Law is seeking part‑time faculty to develop and teach asynchronous online courses for its Master of Legal Studies program. The position is focused on creating engaging, interactive content for non‑lawyers across a range of legal topics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop online course materials, including lectures, assignments, and assessments.
• Deliver course content asynchronously, ensuring high interaction and learner engagement.
• Collaborate one‑on‑one with an in‑house instructional designer to optimize course delivery.
• Stay current with developments in your subject‑matter area and incorporate relevant case studies.
• Provide feedback and support to students throughout the semester.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience or comparable expertise in the relevant legal field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach or present material in an asynchronous online environment.
• Subject‑matter expertise in at least one of the listed areas (e.g., trust administration, healthcare law, cyber law, AI and privacy, real estate law, etc.).
