Part-Time Therapist – Intensive Outpatient Program

About the role

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) clinicians at Salma Health are licensed behavioral health professionals who manage a clinical caseload, facilitate therapy groups, and develop comprehensive treatment and discharge plans. The role ensures continuous, individualized care for each patient while working remotely as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct IOP orientations for new patients, using motivational interviewing and psychoeducation to boost engagement and reduce early drop‑out.
• Lead discharge planning from admission, linking patients to outpatient providers, community resources, and step‑down services.
• Document collateral contacts and case‑management activities in compliance with CMS and commercial payer standards.
• Facilitate psychotherapy, process, and skills‑based groups (e.g., DBT skills, relapse prevention) and provide coverage during staff absences.
• Participate in weekly case conferences, contributing psychosocial insights to treatment planning.
• Track engagement, discharge, and readmission metrics and report trends for quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Assist in updating safety plans and activating crisis escalation pathways as needed.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience as a licensed practitioner.
• Current clinical licensure in California (MFT or LCSW).
• Strong knowledge of evidence‑based treatments for mood, anxiety, trauma, and dual diagnosis.
• Proficiency with telehealth platforms and remote clinical work.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.

What we offer

• Annual compensation of $70,000‑$80,000 for a 24‑hour weekly schedule.
