Part-Time Spa Therapist

About the role

The Mandarin Oriental Boston Spa Department is looking for a part-time Spa Therapist to provide personal assistance to guests arriving for their reserved spa treatments. The therapist meets and exceeds guest expectations through efficient, courteous service in line with the group's quality standards, and reports to the Director of Spa and Wellness and Spa Managers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform treatments on guests while keeping them comfortable, and review appointments after each treatment
• Keep knowledge of the spa menu, treatment details and products, and stay aware of spa promotions and activities
• Keep the work area clean and neat, and replenish consumables and supplies to par stock levels
• Maintain equipment and report any breakage, damage or loss to Spa management
• Follow Forbes 5-Star Standards, Mandarin Oriental policies and health, safety and hygiene regulations
• Answer guests' questions courteously and anticipate their needs

Required profile

• Valid Massachusetts massage therapy license and experience in a similar position, preferably in a luxury setting
• Flexible part-time schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Excellent communication and organisation skills, and reading, writing and spoken English
• Ability to stand for the majority of the shift

What we offer

• Base hourly rate of $14.81, plus 17% commission on services and gratuity; typical earnings of $135-$175 per treatment
