Food Runner / Busser

About the role

The Dalmar, Fort Lauderdale, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel is hiring a Food Runner / Busser for its restaurant, Sparrow. The role reports to the Restaurant Manager and covers serving guests, keeping the food service clean and handling register transactions. The position is listed as hourly.

Key responsibilities

• Serve and replenish food items offered at the restaurant.
• Maintain food service and cleanliness, and report safety, quality and spoilage issues.
• Handle guest transactions and ensure smooth, efficient register operations.
• Greet guests warmly as soon as they enter the restaurant.
• Assist in storing deliveries and stock condiments and utensils in the beverage area.
• Filing of coffee and teapots, and maintaining the appearance of patio furniture and umbrellas.
• Know the menu, item locations, specials, preparation methods and condiments, and know how to operate all line equipment.
• Pull in signs and shut down the Food Pavilion.

Required profile

• Experience in a food service environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays, weekends and evenings.
• Physical ability to stand and move for long periods, and to kneel, push, pull and lift up to 30 lbs.
