Part-Time Dining Server

About the role

Monarch/Brandywine Senior Living is hiring part-time Dining Servers in Toms River. Servers provide excellent customer service and a pleasant dining experience for residents and guests by taking meal orders, serving meals and providing assistance. Various part-time schedules are available, including 4pm to 8pm on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Key responsibilities

• Take residents' dining orders in a friendly and attentive way, remembering their names, special requests and dietary restrictions
• Make sure the dining room is set up and that silverware, napkins, menus, salt and pepper shakers and other items are ready
• Help clean and sanitize the dining room, menus, kitchen, serving stations and other areas as directed
• Handle food safely and help prepare beverages, snacks, desserts, salads and condiments for service
• Assist residents with special dining requests and make sure everyone is accounted for at each meal, documenting attendance
• Help with special events, attend scheduled in-service training and follow federal, state and local regulations and community policies

Required profile

• High school diploma preferred; GED accepted
• At least one year of experience in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living
• Experience working with seniors
• Able to handle multiple priorities and manage time well
• Good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift and support residents up to 50 lbs and use proper body mechanics
