Maintenance Engineer III - Hotel Renovation Project

About the role

Ennismore is hiring a Maintenance Engineer III to join the re-opening of Delano Miami Beach, set to open in early 2026. The hotel is being renovated and redeveloped by Ennismore in partnership with Cain International, and the engineer works under the general guidance of the Assistant Director of Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair building equipment, systems and components, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration kitchen equipment and the hotel's swimming pools.
• Perform general building maintenance and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house equipment, and repair and replace defective parts.
• Inspect and test machinery, listen to unusual sounds and observe operations to prevent breakdowns.
• Maintain the physical structure of the hotel, including walls, floors, doors and windows.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and document all activities in maintenance logs.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen equipment to support uninterrupted food service.
• Respond promptly to guest and departmental requests and to emergencies such as fires and power outages.
• Communicate with supervisors and management on projects, repairs and safety issues, and take part in training sessions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors; lateral service is expected in the hospitality industry.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance or engineering, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and general repairs in a hotel, resort or similar setting.
• Knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and with OSHA safety standards and PPE.
• Physical capability to lift, climb and work in confined spaces; neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.

Required skills

• Electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, motors, pumps and HVAC troubleshooting and repair.
• Preventive maintenance procedures and accurate maintenance logging.
• Hand and power tools, basic computer skills for work orders and maintenance logs.
• Problem-solving, prioritization and good communication with supervisors, vendors and departments.
