Part-Time Dietary Ambassador

About the role

AdventHealth Wesley Chapel is hiring a part-time Dietary Ambassador to support patient care and food service. The role involves rounding on patients and nursing staff, delivering meals correctly and helping patients with their meal choices. The schedule is day shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Round on patients and nursing staff, listen to concerns and resolve meal-related issues with professionalism and empathy
• Deliver meals and late trays accurately and on time, following identification protocols and dietary guidelines, including isolation and diabetic tray procedures
• Assist patients with the meal ordering system and give non-clinical guidance on modified diets so selections match prescribed nutrition plans
• Support foodservice operations: stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, preparing food items and operating dishroom equipment as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized environment using proper sanitation techniques
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent (preferred)
• Food Handler Certificate (required); ServeSafe certification preferred
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, and to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to present information clearly to patients, families and associates
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to work with ratios and percentages
• Ability to use the hospital's admission and food service computer systems that manage patient-care records
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching and smelling; often lifting or moving up to 100 lbs

Required skills

• Data entry and general computer knowledge, including e-mail
• Operating the hospital's food service computer-based systems
