Part-Time Airport Security Officer (Wed/Thu)

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring an unarmed part-time Airport Security Officer in Lihue, Hawaii, to work at an airport serving government and other clients. The position is scheduled Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, at $26.50 per hour. Officers conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, respond to security concerns and provide customer service to travelers, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees and other stakeholders through security procedures, site policies and emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances and critical situations, following reporting and notification procedures.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of terminals, public areas, access points, parking areas and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor assigned areas for unusual conditions, restricted-area access concerns and potential hazards, and report observations to the right personnel.
• Assist with access control, directions and other security support in a government transportation setting.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of security-related experience; customer service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license (required for driving positions only).
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking of English.
• Ability to pass a background check, physical and drug screening, including the DOT Pass and ID office requirements.

Preferred qualifications

• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• A Guard Card or license.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
