Paramedic – PRN in Emergency Department

About the role

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a PRN Paramedic to support the Emergency Department and local volunteer ambulance services. The role combines in‑department assistive duties under RN supervision with on‑call ambulance responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform orthopedic splinting, crutch training, and wound dressing.
• Obtain and document peripheral IV/IO access, fluid administration, and 12‑lead EKGs.
• Apply cardiac monitors, record vital signs, and document patient care in the electronic record.
• Assist with patient registration, admission, room turnover, and maintain unit cleanliness.
• Coordinate EMS and air‑ambulance transports and respond to pre‑medical center ALS calls.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Montana and National EMT‑P registration (critical care endorsement preferred or obtainable within 6 months).
• Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC certifications.
• 1–2 years clinical experience as an EMT‑P, preferably with critical‑care transport.

Required skills

• Orthopedic splinting and crutch training.

• Use of emergency equipment such as defibrillators, IV pumps, and vital‑sign machines.
