Paralegal (Litigation Support)

About the role

CACI is seeking a Paralegal (Legal Assistant I) to support the Department of Justice's mission on high-profile cases, working in an office setting. The role supports federal prosecutors in the Market, Government Consumer Fraud Unit, helping investigate and prosecute matters and providing support for witness interviews, deposition preparation and trial work. It sits under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal.

Key responsibilities

• Compile, prepare and summarize materials for attorneys' discovery, motions, briefs and other legal documents.
• Summarize depositions and transcripts, maintain case files and perform simple legal research.
• Index, track and control document discovery, and index and track exhibits at depositions and trial.
• Prepare exhibit cross-references and assist attorneys in the courtroom.
• Review documents for relevance and privilege per established guidelines.
• Other work such as compiling documents for FOIA, production requests and Congressional inquiries.

Required profile

• Paralegal certificate or a four-year college degree.
• At least one year of litigation paralegal experience or related project/internship experience, or equivalent.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under extreme pressure.
• US citizenship required; DOJ MBI clearance must be obtainable.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Document review and file management systems, imaging and databases.
• Understanding of how electronically stored information works in an operating system.
• Transferable skills in ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures.
• Desired: automated litigation support and Relativity experience.
