About the role
This paid summer position offers a high‑school student hands‑on experience in a university research lab. Working directly with Dr. Cifarelli and her team, the student will learn core laboratory techniques and contribute to a computational modeling project.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare cell culture media and maintain cell growth under supervision.
- Perform cell‑function assays such as permeability measurements.
- Collect experimental data for use in a data‑driven PSLR model.
- Participate in twice‑weekly Zoom meetings with Dr. Finley to develop computational models.
- Apply basic linear regression concepts to biological data.
Required profile
- High‑school student with strong interest in biology and data analysis.
- Ability to follow detailed laboratory protocols.
- Basic familiarity with algebra and linear regression concepts.
