Packaging Machine Operator

About the role

Barilla, a global food company with 22 brands and 30 plants and offices, is hiring a Packaging Machine Operator in Avon, NY for its manufacturing unit. The role keeps production lines running during the holiday season, ensuring quality pasta is packaged safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated packaging equipment and production lines
• Perform machine set-ups, adjustments and product changeovers
• Inspect products for quality, accurate coding and proper sealing
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate concerns when needed
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately
• Follow food safety, GMP, quality and workplace safety requirements
• Keep the work area clean and organized and work with Maintenance, Quality and Production teams

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Manufacturing or machine operating experience preferred
• Food manufacturing experience is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

Required skills

• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
