Maintenance Technician – Food Manufacturing

About the role

Barilla is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently in its Avon, NY food manufacturing plant. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and plant systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and VFD issues.
• Complete repairs involving welding, machining, fabrication, and electrical work.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Monitor and maintain plant utility systems, including air compressors and fire protection.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with external contractors and vendors.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a maintenance‑related field or at least three years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production teams.

Required skills

• Experience with PLCs, especially Allen‑Bradley and Siemens.
• Knowledge of Allen‑Bradley Variable Frequency Drives.
• Welding, machining, fabrication, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
