Outside Sales Representative – Diesel Engine & Power Generation

About the role

This position focuses on driving growth and revenue in the industrial and power generation markets for a leading provider of diesel engine, turbocharger, and filtration solutions. The role involves regional sales activities across the Northeast and Midwest United States, building a robust pipeline and delivering tailored technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and close business opportunities in the marine and power generation sectors.
• Engage new and existing clients through consultative selling and early positioning.
• Maintain accurate records of inquiries, opportunities, and sales activities.
• Deliver technical sales presentations and product demonstrations.
• Represent the company at industry trade shows and conferences.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Experience in marine and/or power generation markets, preferably with controls or automation background.
• Proven track record in outside sales and ability to travel up to 50‑60% domestically.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent sales experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of diesel engines, turbochargers, and filtration equipment.
• Familiarity with Woodward products, controls, and automation systems.
• Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.
