Outreach and Engagement Manager – Berg-Hughes Center

About the role

The Department of Geology and Geophysics at Texas A&M University seeks an Outreach and Engagement Manager to lead outreach, engagement, and partnership initiatives for the Berg‑Hughes Center. The role will coordinate events, manage industry relationships, support student development, and oversee administrative operations to advance geoscience education and workforce development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage events, conferences, and exhibit booths.
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and stakeholders.
• Support student development programs and facilitate communications and outreach activities.
• Create and execute communication, marketing, and promotional campaigns across digital, print, and social media channels.
• Develop administrative procedures, support strategic planning, and supervise support staff and student assistants.
• Prepare research, grant applications, presentations, training programs, workshops, and program materials.
• Manage budgetary, contract, and financial processes, including purchase orders and vouchers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five years of relevant experience.
• Ability to lift moderate‑weight objects for event setup.
• Strong multitasking and collaborative skills.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
• Excellent written communication, copy‑editing, and proof‑reading abilities.
