On‑Call Banquet Server

About the role

The Boston Harbor Hotel is seeking a passionate hospitality professional to join its banquet team on an on‑call basis. You will serve food and beverages in a courteous, professional manner, upholding the hotel’s high standards of quality.

Key responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms with linen, service ware and glassware as instructed by the Banquets Manager.
• Attend roll‑call meetings before events to learn function particulars and guest expectations.
• Greet guests, respond to requests, and serve food and beverages according to the manager’s direction.
• Bus dishes promptly after each course and replenish beverages as needed.
• Check guest satisfaction and practice teamwork throughout the event.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of hospitality experience, preferably with banquet and food & beverage background.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service‑ware.
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English; a second language is desirable.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computational ability.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs regularly.
• Thorough knowledge of food and beverage service.
