Office Assistant – Family Medicine (Carle Place)

About the role
Join the Family Medicine team at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Carle Place as an Office Assistant. You will be the first point of contact for patients, providing front‑desk support and ensuring smooth clinical intake operations.
Key responsibilities
- Greet patients, answer phone calls, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff.
- Schedule routine appointments and follow‑ups that do not require pre‑authorization.
- Collect and verify patient demographic data, insurance information, and required signatures (HIPAA, ABN, etc.).
- Assist patients with enrollment in Patient Secure and capture patient photographs.
- Perform patient check‑in and check‑out, including co‑pay collection and document scanning.
- Maintain daily appointment confirmations and monitor the intake work queue for timely completion.
- Refer pre‑authorization and certification questions to senior staff as needed.
Required profile
- Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with patients and callers.
- Ability to handle confidential patient information accurately.
- Attention to detail in verifying insurance eligibility and completing intake documentation.
