Occupational Therapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation

About the role

UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a Newsweek‑recognized 50‑bed inpatient acute rehab facility, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join its interdisciplinary team caring for adult and geriatric patients in the Madison metropolitan area.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, develop and implement occupational therapy interventions, and monitor progress toward short‑ and long‑term goals.
• Collaborate with Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, students, and other team members to ensure high‑quality patient care.
• Document assessments, reassessments, and quality‑improvement scores accurately and timely.
• Provide supervision or orientation to staff and students as needed.

Required profile

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Wisconsin.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Ability to assess and manage patient pain to optimize functional participation.
• Proficiency in performing comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and documenting outcomes.
