Occupational Therapist - Home Health (Part Time or Full Time)

About the role

UnitedHealth Group, through Louisiana HomeCare of Northshore (a part of the LHC Group and the Optum family), is hiring an Occupational Therapist for home health in Hammond, Louisiana. The therapist assesses and evaluates patient care needs related to functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor coordination, home assessments and adaptive equipment, and other occupational therapy needs defined by medical conditions. The position is open to part-time or full-time work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide services within the scope of practice defined by state law, in line with the plan of care, using evidence-based techniques and in coordination with the health care team
• Evaluate the patient's functional status, body systems as required for CMS documentation, and occupational therapy needs; consult with the physician on the therapy plan of care
• Observe, record and report to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in condition
• Conduct patient assessments using diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests
• Work in any home situation regardless of the client's age, race, creed, color, sex, disability or financial condition

Required profile

• Current Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of practice
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Preferred: current CPR certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire

Required skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently
• Good communication, writing and organizational skills

What we offer

• Pay ranging from $80,220 to $120,330 annually (full-time, 40 hours), plus $46.28 to $69.42 per visit point and an hourly rate for non-visit activities
